Joining the Troop

Troop 223 hosts both a Boys Troop and a Girls Troop and meets regularly at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Pacific Palisades, California.

New Scouts join the troop in February of their 5th or 6th grade, with the majority joining in 5th grade. Note that it is not necessary to have participated in Cub Scouts or Webelos in order to join Scouts BSA. Prior to joining the troop, prospective Scouts (boys and girls) and Parents can participate in several campouts in the fall and winter months to learn more and get acquainted with the program. The troop offers a unique 5 year program to achieve Eagle Scout--the highest rank in scouting--typically in the fall of their 10th grade year.
